In 2007 archaeologists Bernard Phillips and Mogs Boon recorded the cutting for a land drain in the rear garden of Lydiard House. This exposed a narrow brick plinth dating to the 18th century, a demolished porch foundation, two arched brick culverts and the base of a former garden wall.
