The Lydiard Archives could not exist without the support of organisations, charities, community groups, sponsors and volunteers who give generously of their time, funding and resources to help make the Archives a reality. We are overwhelmed with the response from our local Swindon community, Friends of Lydiard Park from across the UK, and a growing global interest from social historians and academic researchers, genealogists and students. Beginning with a modest intention to digitise the Friends of Lydiard Park Reports, the Archives have grown to a rich repository of primary sources and research spanning a thousand years of history.
As we move forward with The Lydiard Archives, we are excited to bring you Special Collections, where our archivists are working with guest sponsors and curators to bring fascinating digital exhibitions to life. From Medieval Heraldry to World War, we are creating opportunities to underwrite existing planned collections, or create new ones that speak to our local community, students, seniors, historians, researchers and scholars around the world.
The Trustees of The Friends of Lydiard Park would like to thank all of our supporters, and encourage those who are interested in participating in The Lydiard Archives to join this exciting community. No contribution is too small, no memory insignificant.
Thank you.
