Pencil drawing of Elizabeth Herbert, Countess of Pembroke (1766-1793) by Henry Bone after a painting by Sir William Beechey.
Elizabeth was the eldest twin daughter of Lady Diana (Spencer) and Topham Beauclerk and half sister to George Richard St.John 3rd Viscount Bolingbroke. She married her cousin, George Herbert, 11th Earl of Pembroke.
The drawing, measuring 148 X 113mm is by Henry Bone after a portrait of Elizabeth by Sir William Beechey.. It is squared in ink for transfer and inscribed Lady Herbert 1801 after Beechey for Revd Mr Herbert. Bone was a popular copyist and a prolific painter of mostly enamel miniatures.
