In the first picture, possibly taken at Easter time, Gertrude Gough is seen standing behind her older sister Eileen (better known as Aunty Topps by the Gough family) in St. Mary's Lydiard Tregoze.

The girls grew up with their parents and siblings across the fields in the hamlet of Washpool. In 1950 Gertrude or Gertie as most people knew her, moved with her husband Roland and small son Geoff into "the camp" at Lydiard Park. She was a familiar figure in the church and parish throughout her life and for many years played the organ at St. Mary's.
