The grave of Private Edward (Bill) W Gough of Lydiard Millicent in Thailand is a simple wooden cross recording the date of his death on 12 October 1943.
Bill was one of three brothers to fight in World War II.
Their father, Harry Gough, moved to Lydiard House with his family in 1944 to become its first caretaker.
