The handbill promotes a garden party to be held in the rectory field in aid of new 'heating apparatus' for St. Mary's Lydiard Tregoze. Lady Meux was patron of the event which included swimming matches, donkey races, and an open-air concert by the Swindon Town Band. Breaks were run at intervals from The Kings Arms in Swindon (Old Town) and the Railway Hotel in Purton.
