An oil portrait of Oliver St.John 1st Viscount Grandison, is seen hanging on the wall at Lord Bolingbroke's home in Moorhayes. The portrait was the only one to be retained by his companion Miss Catherine McLean, seen here, after Lord Bolingbroke's death in 1974. Miss McLean had a special fondness for the picture, saying it reminded her of her father.
The painting was subsequently returned to Lydiard House and was conserved thanks to a grant from the Woodmansterne Conservation Trust. It can now be seen hanging in the Dining Room.
