Photograph of young Vernon Henry St.John (later 6th Viscount Bolingbroke, d1974), wearing a fashionable sailor suit, and shown leaning against a fallen tree. Embossed card frame.
The photograph was probably taken at Lydiard Park where Vernon spent practically all of his childhood, receiving no formal education but taught by a series of nurses and nannies.
This photograph belonged to Lord Bolingbroke and was generously gifted to The Friends of Lydiard Park by a private donor in 2023.
