Alfred Rudler (1897-1962) was a farm labourer and kept pigs close to Clarendon House, Hook, which is where both these photographs were probably taken. He was also employed in The Great Western Railway Works.

There are various photographs of Alfred in The Lydiard Archives, including one taken during World War I and several with his wife Dorothy and son Frank Rudler..
