The Day I met the Queen - Link Magazine Article, 1997

An article by Keeper of Lydiard House, Sarah Finch-Crisp, which appeared in the Link Magazine following the visit of Queen Elizabeth to Lydiard Park in November 2022.

It sums up the months of planning and preparation to make the Queen's visit to Lydiard a success.

'...on (the) day a plague of bluebottles emerged to feast on sap from a huge ivy which drapes across the archway through which her majesty was due to walk. I was advised that nothing could be done, only a downpour would clear the path...'
