John Strange of Hook, Lydiard Tregoze, attended Hook School. Photographs of the children were taken in the Christmas Term or earlier in the year and produced as Christmas Cards. The two earliest photographs were taken by F.J .Vaughan of Brighton in Sussex and cost 2/6 per copy. One year Mr Vaughan brought along a dog, perhaps to make the children smile.
