Since the early 1990's Lydiard House is traditionally dressed for Christmas during December. In the year this photograph was taken the theme was Victorian and Museum Assistants Janet Porter + (R) and Mary Golding (L) are seen wearing 19th century costume.

Janet and Mary were a familiar duo at Lydiard House in the 1990's, caring for the furnishings in Lydiard House, running the shop, supporting events like Shakespeare in the Park and welcoming members of the public.
