Medieval glass at St. Mary's Lydiard Tregoze: Virgin Mary and Christ Child
Hidden Content, Images, Videos and Documents
The central panel depicts the Virgin Mary and Christ Child and is attributed to John Thornton of Coventry, a leading stained glass artist whose major work was the great east window at York Minster. It is thought this fragment may originally have formed part of the east window of St, Mary's in the 15th century.
The window was cleaned in 2021 by Holywell Glass as part of the St. Mary's Church Conservation Project.
