Article in which Brian Carne lists the monuments, memorial plaques and hatchments in St. Mary's Lydiard Tregoze and graves in the surrounding churchyard, recording their inscriptions where legible. In 1979 when he undertook this study, it was not possible to decipher the inscriptions on all the extant graves. In some instances inscriptions had been previously recorded in which case he includes those earlier inscriptions and provides references.

The schedule also indicates locations and includes a plan for memorials inside the church. Entries are cross referenced with the Burial Register.

In his additional notes on the family of Thomas Bound d 1789, Brian Carne explains 'the effort made in noting the inscription on grave-stones may be rewarded when a family is being reconstructed from the Parish Registers' , providing the Bound family by way of example.
