A Carte de Visite (Visiting Card) belonging to Henry St.John, 5th Viscount Bolingbroke containing two small portraits of him.

The card was created by William Hall, a photographer with premises in 21 Hall Street, Brighton. Hall specialised in the technique of combining portraits taken at different angles in one picture.

At the time Henry was living between London and Brighton with his long-term mistress Ellen Medex. The couple went by the names of Mr and Mrs Morgan.
