Miniature brass case, hinged containing a tiny razor. The lid of the box tells us it was made by the makers of the Daymark Blade by W. J. Myatt & Co of Birmingham Inside the lid a metal M is designed to hold a spare blade. The blade holder and handle can be screwed together for use.

Research on the internet suggests that this was a ladies razor, made from the early 1900's and which was often provided for customers in upmarket hotel bathroom suites.

The item is part of a collection of mostly WWI military badges owned by Vernon St.John, 6th Viscount Bolingbroke until his death in 1974. If indeed it is a ladies razor, it most probably belonged to his mother, the 5th Viscountess Bolingbroke (d. 1940).

The collection to which this case belongs was generously donated to The Friends of Lydiard Park by a private donor in 2023.
