One of several newspaper features relating to the 21st birthday of Vernon Henry St.John (1896-1974) on 15th March 1917, his attaining the titles of Viscounts St.John and Bolingbroke, and of his being called- up to serve in the army.

Vernon told reporters that he lived for music. He is photographed playing the organ at St. Mary's Church, Lydiard Tregoze. At the time he was the resident organist at St. Mary's Church in the neighbouring Parish of Lydiard Millicent.
