The two cuttings refer to the death and funeral of Mr Fred Edmonds:-
'Death of a Swindon Director' appeared on 22nd April 1957 and 'Swindon Funeral of Mr F Edmonds' on the 25th April 1957.
Fred Edmonds was a successful business man whose family came from Lydiard Tregoze. He is remembered in the parish for gifting a piece of land in the parish for the building of Hook Village Hall. His funeral at Christ Church in Swindon was well attended by family, friends, and representatives of the various organisations in which he was involved. Staff from the Swindon Motor Company, which he ran, were also present.
