'Pilfering postmaster' feature in the Daily Mail newspaper (Jan 7th 1999) included a family tree demonstrating the ancestral connection between HR Prince Edward and his finance, Sophie Rees-Jones. Nicholas St.John and his Elizabeth (Blount) of Lydiard Park provide that shared ancestry. A monument to Nicholas and Elizabeth, dated to 1592, is found in the south aisle of St. Mary's Lydiard Tregoze.
