Order of Commemoration Service, Sir Walter St.John School Trust, 1950

On the 7th July 1950 The Sir Walter St.John School Trust commemorated the founder of their school, Sir Walter St.John, and his legacy. Pupils and masters formed the congregation and The Right Reverend Cuthbert Bardsley, Lord Bishop of Croydon, dedicated a memorial tablet to Sir Walter.
The Order of Service belonged to Vernon St.John, 6th Viscount Bolingbroke (1886-1974). We do not know whether he attended the service which honoured his fifth times great grandfather, or whether he was given the booklet by the school.
It was generously gifted to The Friends of Lydiard Park by a private donor in 2023.
