Arthur Wheeler, seen here carrying buckets of eggs he collected from the chickens at Hook Farm, Lydiard Tregoze where he worked both full and part time for most of his life.

In c1930 when this picture was taken, his employer was farmer Elliot Woolford, though it was Mrs Amy Woolford who managed the chickens.

Like many men from Lydiard Tregoze, Arthur worked also worked at The Great Western Railway Factory in Swindon during the week where he was employed in the Chain Shop. He also served in the army during World War II.
