Bolingbroke House was the Manor House of Battersea, situated in a plot north-east of the Parish Church of Saint Mary Battersea, with lands that would eventually become Battersea Church Street.

The house dated back to the late Elizabethan/early Stuart period but became known as Bolingbroke House by the 1760s as it was associated with its owner, Henry St John, 1st Viscount Bolingbroke. It was sold by Frederick St.John 2nd Viscount Bolingbroke to the Spencer family.

This view of the staircase with its turned wooden bannister was taken in 1906. The House was demolished in 1925.
