This photograph, taken at Spittleborough Farm, Lydiard Tregoze, shows Cyril Slade in a white coat next to a large bull. To his left, in a bowler hat and gaiters, is the farm manager, George Strange. George was running the farm for Cyril's mother, Mrs Slade, as her husband had died and Cyril was to young too take it on.

The man on the right is Mr Barnes. He is believed to be Frank Barnes who lived at Creeches Farm. Frank Barnes lived on his own, and at the front of the farm house was an orchard where the local children would go apple noggin.

In the background a warehouse has a sign saying 'GODWIN' on it.
