Studio portrait of Mr and Mrs Thomas Newman of Hook, Lydiard Tregoze. It was taken between 1900 and 1910 when the photographer, Fred Viner, was operating out of a premises in Fleet Street, Swindon.

Thomas Newman was estate carpenter and wheelwright to Henry, 5th Viscount Bolingbroke and continued to work for Lady Bolingbroke after her husband's death in 1899.
