Purton Cricket Club was the 9th cricket club to be established in Britain..

Elliott Woolford, of Hook Farm Lydiard Tregoze (back row, far left) was a member, as no doubt were other villagers.

Purton Museum, Wiltshire, holds records for the Purton Cricket Club and has published a book on its history.
