Lower Hook Farm on Hook Street, Lydiard Tregoze is a Grade II Listed Building and home to the Hicks family since 1933.

Bill Hick's arrival at the farm was memorable according to his son and current owner, John Hicks. Bill had been farming near Malmesbury and on the day of taking up the tenancy at Hook, he milked his cows in the morning, walked them over to Hook and milked them again in the late afternoon. It poured with rain all day and Bill vowed never to move again.

Initially Bill rented the 200 acre farm from Mr Ody but was able to purchase it in 1955.

In 1984 Bill's son, John Hicks, sold 108 acres to Thamesdown Borough Council (now Swindon Borough Council) enabling the council to enlarge Lydiard Park. The land had formed part of the original Bolingbroke estate.
