This Lydiard household recipe is one of several which were preserved by the 6th Viscount Bolingbroke amongst his family papers and memorabilia.

It is written in the form of a letter with the author urging the recipient (likely to be 5th Viscount Bolingbroke 1820-1899) to use them to help with alleviate rheumatism.
