Rare informal snapshot of Lady Bolingbroke and her cousin and companion Edward Hiscocks, possibly taken on an outing or holiday occasion. Edward or Teddy Hiscocks as he was known, managed the Lydiard estate on Lady Bolingbroke's behalf. Villagers in Lydiard Tregoze referred to him as 'Lord Ted' on account of his high handed manner..
