Transcription of the Will and codicils of Anne Wilmot, (née St. John) Countess of Rochester (1614-1696) formerly Anne Lee. Her Grandson Edward Henry Lee, 1st Earl of Litchfield (1663-1716), married Lady Charlotte Fitzroy (1664-1718), the illegitimate daughter of King Charles II and Barbara Villiers, Duchess of Cleveland.

Legacies in the will contain some very interesting personalbelongings of Countess Rochester, including many family paintings and household effects, once contained in Oxfordshire and London. The items give a wonderful insight of the furniture, pictures, hangings etc., once owned and enjoyed by her. There is even a portrait of Ben Jonson, upon the Stairs; had the old Countess been a fan of his work?
