BMW volunteers assisting park restoration works, 2006

In 2006 a team of BMW Swindon staff were deployed to Lydiard Park on a six week placement to assist in the £5.3 million Lydiard Park Project (2004-7). They undertook a variety of tasks including the complete refurbishment of the church gates and railings.

BMW Swindon gave significant financial support to the Lydiard Park Project via The Friends of Lydiard Park. Their support was targeted at the restoration of the dilapidated stable and coach house building to create an education space and tearoom with an offices upstairs.
