Hard back copy of A Shell Guide to Wiltshire by David Verey, published by Faber and Faber in 1956, with front and end papers by John Piper.

Vernon St.John, 6th Viscount Bolingbroke (1896-1974) revised his Nature Notes from the 1935 edition for inclusion in this post-war publication at the invitation of the well known poet and broadcaster, John Betjeman. Betjeman had edited the original version.

The book which belonged to Lord Bolingbroke, also contains a section on Lydiard Tregoze, particularly dwelling on the church and its monuments. It was generously gifted to The Friends of Lydiard Park by a private donor in 2023.
