Aldous Huxley's 'A Journey through Time' which is mainly concerned with his visit to Lydiard Tregoze (the mansion and church) in 1950 is here republished in full in the Aldous Huxley Annual, edited and annotated by Dr Gerhard Wagner.
Huxley's article was originally published in the November/December 1951 issue of the American travel magazine, The Lincoln-Mercury Times.
Hitherto unnoticed by Huxley scholars, Dr Wagner points to the significance of the piece.
' All things considered, the supreme ease with which Huxley treats his subject in 'A Tour through Time' and provides an insight into an important chapter of English history makes the text a fine example of his prowess as an essayist and is certainly worthy of further appreciation in Huxley criticism'.
