The plaque records details of the establishment of a trust fund by Rector Richard Miles and Churchwardens Cornelius Bradford and Jacob Woodward. The aim of the trust was to distribute blankets and clothes to the 'deserving poor' of the parish at Christmas time. The plaque was erected in 1841.

See Items of Interest for an account of the charity by St. Mary's historian, Rev. Brian Carne.
