Dated 19th June 1956, a representative of Bevirs Solicitors confirms to Charles St.John that they hold a large box of papers pertaining to his younger brother Vernon's petition to establish his right to the St. John titles.

Vernon, the only legitimate son of Henry 5th Viscount Bolingbroke and Mary Howard, had to contest his right to assume the family titles in the House of Lords in 2018-19, such was reputation of his father for making false claims about his children's legitimacy.

It appears that Bevirs are responding to a difficulty Charles had in claiming a pension.
