Mourning letter from Dowager Duchess of Cleveland to Antonia St.John, 1875

Letter from the Dowager Duchess of Cleveland to Antonia St.John expressing her sorrow at the death of her friend, Antonia's mother, Lady Isabella Frances St. John (née FitzRoy) (1792-1875). The letter is dated 8th September 1875 and addressed from the Dowager Duchess's residence at Osterley Park.

Lady Isabella, a novelist, had been living in a grace and favour apartment at Hampton Court Palace since 1839 until her death on 27th August 1875.
