A congratulatory piece celebrating the Golden Wedding of Mr and Mrs George Strange of Orchard Cottage, who are described as 'Hook Verteran'.

The article provides details of their life history including George's early days in the employment of Lord Bolingbroke at Lydiard Park. He then spent 20 years at Spittleborough Farm and following that, in his later years, he was employed by Mr E. H. Edmonds, the agricultural engineer. Both husband and wife are recorded as being in 'wonderful health' with Mrs Strange not needing a doctor for 37 years.
