Photograph of Lydiard Park Heritage Trust trustees, 2017

The photograph shows trustees of the former Lydiard Park Heritage Trust on the steps of Lydiard House in July 2017. The Trust was formed in 2016 with support and direct involvement of The Friends of Lydiard Park, in order to prevent the council's proposed outsourcing of Lydiard House and Park to the private commercial sector.

Trustees are pictured by the local media holding their bid and business/ management plan for Lydiard. The group were selected by Swindon Council as its 'preferred bidder' to manage the site but after lengthy negotiations, the council decided to retain control of the site.

Two remaining trustees, not pictured here, were Kevin Fisher and Richard Howroyd. Together the trustees represented a town-wide coalition of interested parties with appropriate expertise, to bid for the management of the property.
