Weobley Castle belonged to the De La Bere family for many generations. The male line failed at the beginning of the 15th century and half of the estate with the castle was inherited by John St.John of Fonmon by right of his marriage to Elizabeth De La Bere. John and Elizabeth were the paternal grandparents of Sir Oliver St.John who married Margaret Beauchamp.

The 14th century castle is in the care of Cadw. The surviving structure consists of a gateway, a hall and kitchen, a chapel block and an east range, enclosing a courtyard.
