Photographs (3) of Frank Rudler of Lydiard Tregoze, World War II
Hidden Content, Images, Videos and Documents
Three photographs of Frank Rudler (1923-1986) taken during World War II. Frank's son, Adrian, tells us that Frank used to describe World War II as his first job - he served in Reconnaissance.
The second photograph was taken in Belgium in 1945. While posted here Frank and his comrades came under fire from an enemy aircraft. The men dived under a hay trailer but not before Frank was injured by shrapnel which lodged in his spine. After a period recovery in England, Frank returned to the war, serving in Malaya where the third of these photographs was taken.
