Following his departure from Lydiard Park in 1940 and temporary residence at Brownsover Hall in Warwickshire, Vernon St.John, 6th Viscount Bolingbroke (d.1974), moved to Gorley Vale Farm in Hampshire.

The snapshots of the farm belonged to Vernon and were generously gifted to The Friends of Lydiard Park by a private donor in 2023.
