The snapshots show Vernon St.John, 6th Viscount Bolingbroke (1896-1974) outside the porch door of the Hampshire home he shared with his companion, Catherine McLean.
The pictures were taken in Spring 1971 according to the labels Catherine has written on the reverse. The young boy in the second picture is named as Christopher Houlding.
Any photographs of Lord Bolingbroke are something of a rarity as in adult life he was not keen on having his picture taken.
These pictures were generously donated to The Friends of Lydiard Park by a private donor in 2023.
