Notes on the Fabric and Fittings of St. Mary's Church and Related Matters, by Brian Carne

The most comprehensive account of the history of the building and its contents in a 'continuous story'.

Seven periods have been identified in the development of the church building based on stylistic grounds. There is also information available which provides dates for some of the work undertaken by a particular patron or craftsman, and we are thus able to catch a glimpse of some of the people of Lydiard and the church they wished to beautify.
